Defiance 4.3 enables companies to fully protect sensitive data without disrupting essential business processes. Particularly suited to the needs of distributed enterprises like those in the retail industry, new and enhanced features ease integration with existing systems, improve key management, and broaden platform support.

Defiance 4.3 adds Microsoft Windows platform support for VPDisk, Protegrity’s file protection product. A key feature of VPDisk is cross platform interoperability – files encrypted on Unix or Linux systems are fully interoperable with the Windows version of VPDisk. This allows for enterprises to transfer data from platform to platform in a secure manner.

- Encryption at the table or column level for IBM Mainframe DB/2
- Maximum control of security at the application level providing tight integration of encryption with existing systems
- Easy integration with third party applications’ existing security functionality enabled by new key management features that support key export
- Expanded support for hardware-based key management utilizing SafeNet’s Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
Defiance TMS (Threat Management System)
- Enhanced scalability and transparency for large enterprise systems through new Bridge Mode
- Dramatic performance and scalability enhancements to support high volume, production web applications
Defiance 4.3 follows the recently announced partnership withTeradata to protect backup and archive data for Teradata BAR(backup, archive, and recovery). Teradata BAR Encryption goes beyond column-level security to ensure complete encryption of all backed-up and archived data.
