Iain Kerr, President and CEO
Iain, a senior business executive with a record of demonstrated success, joined Protegrity in April, 2008, bringing extensive domestic and international business experience in software and technology companies. Before joining Protegrity, Iain was Senior Vice President of Sales at Verid where he more than doubled company revenues before being acquired by RSA/EMC. As Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Sygate Technologies, he grew revenues over 100% prior to the company's acquisition by Symantec. Iain also served in various senior management positions in his fifteen year career at Hyperion.

Iain holds a degree in business and finance from De Montford University, Leicester, England.

Timo Aittola, Chief Financial Officer
Timo joined Protegrity in January 2006 after being CFO of Mirror Image Internet, Inc., since 1999. He had previously worked as an executive in the financial sector holding positions with GE Capital, Vik Brothers Insurance Group and Kansallis-Osake-Pankki (Nordea Bank), and with engineering companies in Finland.

Kyle Pond, VP Sales Operations and Business Development
Kyle joined Protegrity in August, 2004, bringing more than 18 years of enterprise software experience. Before joining Protegrity, Pond was vice president of corporate development at Conduit Internet Technologies where he was instrumental in generating a four-fold increase in annual revenues. Kyle also served as director of corporate development for Toronto-based Delano Technology and was a research director at Gartner covering the enterprise applications marketplace.

Kyle holds a degree in business administration from University of Rhode Island and holds an MBA in Finance from Sacred Heart University.

Raul Ortega, VP Research & Development

Raul joined Protegrity in 2006, with 30 years in the software development industry. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of R&D, both in-house and out-sourced, distributed and centralized. Raul has specialized in maturing the R&D function of software start-ups while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit. Before joining Protegrity, he held software management positions at Decision Resources, purchased by Ashton-Tate; IMRS which went public as Hyperion Software; and Neuvis, purchased by Rational Software, and subsequently IBM.

Theresa McSpedon, VP Services
Theresa joins Protegrity with over 25 years experience managing world-class services organizations. Theresa comes to Protegrity with a wealth of experience in high growth companies. Theresa is an accomplished leader with an outstanding track record of achievement building top-producing service organizations. Theresa joins Protegrity from Bristol Technology, an enterprise software company, as a part of the executive team where she was Sr. Director of Global Services. Theresa helped Bristol grow from a small company to a much larger organization that was purchased by Hewlett Packard. Theresa was also instrumental in operating the Bristol organization throughout their successful lawsuit with Microsoft. Previously, Theresa worked at Flexi International, an enterprise financial software company, where she was one of the key executives who assisted Flexi from a small company to their successful IPO. Theresa has a wealth of experience with other technology and service firms. Theresa was a 2010 recipient of the Connecticut Technology Council’s Women of Innovation Award. One of only six women in the State of Connecticut to receive this honor in her category out of hundreds of applicants. Theresa sits on or has sat on several Boards of Directors for community and charitable organizations. She is a member of several industry and charitable organizations.

Ulf T. Mattsson, Chief Technology Officer
Ulf created the innovative architecture of the Protegrity database security technology. Prior to joining Protegrity, he worked 20 years at IBM in software development as a consulting resource to IBM's Research organization, specializing in the areas of IT Architecture and IT Security. He is the inventor of more than 20 patents in the areas of Encryption Key Management, Policy Driven Data Encryption, Internal Threat Protection, Data Usage Control and Intrusion Prevention. He is a research member of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) WG 11.3 Data and Application Security, ANSI X9, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Ulf received a master's degree in physics in 1979 from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, and holds degrees in electrical engineering and finance.
