Suni Munshani, Chief Executive Officer

Suni Munshani, Chief Executive OfficerSuni Munshani was appointed CEO of Protegrity in May, 2011. He brings over 25 years of software industry experience and deep knowledge in operations, revenue strategy, corporate development and marketing. Prior to joining Protegrity, Munshani was the CEO of Novitaz for five years. Before Novitaz, he served as a managing partner at Persephone Investments, a venture capital firm focused on early stage investments. While at Persephone, Munshani led the firm’s investment in Synetics, Inc. and eventually assumed the role of CEO. As CEO he led Synetics’ acquisition to Affiliated Computer Services. Prior to that, Munshani founded several successful software and services companies, including Paradigm Systems Corporation of America (acquired by Platinum Technology/ Computer Associates) and Trirex Systems. Munshani holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Timo Aittola, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Timo Aittola, Chief Financial OfficerTimo joined Protegrity in January 2006 after serving as CFO of Mirror Image Internet, Inc., a position he had held since 1999. He had previously worked as an executive in the financial sector at such companies as GE Capital, Vik Brothers Insurance Group, and Kansallis-Osake-Pankki (Nordea Bank), as well as with a number of engineering companies in Finland. Timo has a law degree from University of Helsinki, Finland and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Raul Ortega, vice president – Business Development

Raul Ortega, Vice President, Research & DevelopmentRaul joined Protegrity in 2006. He has more than 30 years in the software development industry, with extensive knowledge of all aspects of R&D—in-house and out-sourced, distributed, and centralized. Raul has specialized in maturing the R&D function of software start-ups while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit. Before joining Protegrity, he held software management positions at Decision Resources, purchased by Ashton-Tate; IMRS, which went public as Hyperion Software; and Neuvis, purchased by Rational Software and, subsequently, IBM. Raul holds a degree in Geology from SUNY Oneonta and a Master of Science in Geography, specializing in Remote Sensing, from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Ulf T. Mattsson, Chief Technology Officer

Ulf T. Mattsson, Chief Technology OfficerUlf created the innovative architecture of the Protegrity database security technology. Prior to joining Protegrity, he worked 20 years at IBM in software development as a consulting resource to IBM’s Research organization, specializing in the areas of IT Architecture and IT Security. He holds more than 20 patents in the areas of Encryption Key Management, Policy Driven Data Encryption, Internal Threat Protection, Data Usage Control and Intrusion Prevention. He is a research member of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) WG 11.3 Data and Application Security, ANSI X9, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Ulf received a master’s degree in physics from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Yigal Rozenberg, vice president – products and Development

Yigal Rozenberg, Chief ArchitectYigal joined Protegrity in 2005. He has more than 20 years in the software development industry, with more than 10 years developing security solutions. Prior to joining Protegrity, he was one of the innovators of the Web Application Firewall technologies working for Kavado as a vice president of research and development. Yigal is a co-author on 4 patents including patents for Web Application Protection, Web Application Vulnerability Detection, Database Security Methods, and Cooperative Processing and Escalation in a Multi-Node Application-Layer Security Systems. Yigal holds a degree in computer science from a Tel-Aviv university in Israel.
