Gordon O. Rapkin, President and CEO
Gordon joined Protegrity in June, 2004, bringing more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience as an executive in the software industry. Prior to joining Protegrity, Gordon held executive positions at Transcentive, Inc., Decisionoism, Inc., where he was CEO for four years, and at Hyperion Software (now Hyperion Solutions, Inc.) As a key member of the executive teams, he was instrumental in guiding each through successive years of extraordinary growth and success.

Gordon holds a degree in biochemistry from Syracuse University, as well as an MBA and a law degree, both from Emory University.

Iain Kerr, Senior VP Sales
Iain, a senior business executive with a record of demonstrated success, joined Protegrity in April, 2008, bringing extensive domestic and international business experience in software and technology companies.   Before joining Protegrity, Iain was Senior Vice President of Sales at Verid where he more than doubled company revenues before being acquired by RSA/EMC.  As Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Sygate Technologies, he grew revenues over 100% prior to the company's acquisition by Symantec.  Iain also served in various senior management positions in his fifteen year career at Hyperion.

Iain holds a degree in business and finance from De Montford University, Leicester, England.

Ulf T. Mattsson, Chief Technology Officer
Ulf created the initial architecture of Protegrity's database security technology, for which the company owns several key patents. His extensive IT and security industry experience includes 20 years with IBM as a manager of software development, and a consulting resource to IBM's Research and Development organization in the areas of IT Architecture and IT Security.

Ulf holds a degree in electrical engineering from Polhem University, a degree in Finance from University of Stockholm and a master's degree in physics from Chalmers University of Technology

Jim Walter, Senior VP Research & Development
Jim is an experienced software product executive who leads the international teams responsible for developing Protegrity’s Defiance Enterprise Data Protection Suite. Over the past 20 years, he has delivered scalable, mission-critical products for managing and analyzing data across a wide range of industries including Retail, Finance, Pharma, Automotive, Government and Aerospace. Most recently, Jim was VP of Product Development at Engineous, the leader in enterprise design exploration and optimization for engineering. Prior to that, he was VP of Research & Development at Insightful (IFUL), a publicly traded leader in data management and predictive analytics. Previously, Jim was Director of Product Development at PRICE Systems, a former GE business unit delivering data modeling products for Cost & Schedule estimation. Jim began his career developing in-house systems in the Retail and Investment Banking industries.

Kyle Pond, Vice President of Market Development
Kyle joined Protegrity in August, 2004, bringing more than 15 years of enterprise software experience.  Before joining Protegrity, Pond was vice president of corporate development at Conduit Internet Technologies where he was instrumental in generating a four-fold increase in annual revenues. Kyle also served as director of corporate development for Toronto-based Delano Technology and was a research director at Gartner.

Kyle holds a degree in business administration from University of Rhode Island and holds an MBA from Sacred Heart University.

Paul Giardina, Senior Vice President Marketing
Paul joined Protegrity in December, 2004, and has more than a decade of marketing and product management experience in the enterprise software industry.  He comes to Protegrity from Cartesis, where he established the company's global marketing function and developed key strategic partnerships. Previously, Paul held senior positions in product management and services at Hyperion Solutions.

Paul holds a bachelor of science in finance from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Theresa McSpedon, Vice President Services
Theresa joins Protegrity with over 20 years experience managing world-class services organizations.  She joins Protegrity from Bristol Technology, where she was Sr. Director of Global Services.  Previously Theresa worked at at Flexi International and dotCOM Management Consultants.

Theresa holds a bachelor of science in economics from Columbia University.

Timo Aittola, Chief Financial Officer
Timo joined Protegrity in January 2006 after being CFO of Mirror Image Internet, Inc., since 1999.  He had previously worked as executive in the financial sector including GE Capitol, Vik Brothers Insurance Group and Kansallis-Osake-Pankki (Nordea Bank), and with engineering companies in Finland.
