Protegrity Tokenization
Your ticket to the highest possible levels of data security
To secure high-risk data, such as credit cards and social security numbers, businesses are increasingly turning to tokenization—the process of substituting sensitive data with replacement values that retain all the essential characteristics without compromising its security.
Protegrity has developed a patent-pending, next-generation tokenization process that eliminates the challenges associated with standard centralized tokenization—from performance drains to scalability to data “collisions.” With Protegrity Tokenization, you’ll realize:
Higher performance and scalability. The high-speed performance of Protegrity Token Server provides fast creation of new data tokens and quick recovery of the original data when needed. Adding more token servers will increase the throughput required for demanding business requirements.
Flexible deployment. Protegrity token services can be deployed in a distributed environment or in a central topology, which does not require any replication between the token servers. Having the choice to deliver a distributed or centralized tokenization solution enables optimization of performance and security.
Purpose-built token servers. Delivering tokenization for specific functions is made possible due to the ease with which Token Servers can be deployed and distributed. For example, tokenizing payment transactions can be segregated from tokenization of healthcare related information. This allows for more control over different security and performance requirements that may be imposed by different business functions or requirements such as PCI, PHI, or PII data.
Multiple types and formats. The Token Server delivers flexibility on the number of token types that can be created and how tokens are created. Multiple token formats are supported including numeric, alphanumeric, and masked tokens. Tokens can be created with masks that expose part of the original data. This can be useful when applications expect to use only certain parts of the sensitive data for business processing.
Platform Approach. As part of the larger Protegrity Security Platform, you’ll be able to leverage Protegrity Data Protectors that can expose tokenization capabilities on a diverse set of operating systems and databases.
