Airlines Reporting Corporation Secures Sensitive Data
Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) provides ticket transaction settlement services between airlines and U.S.-based travel agencies. ARC’s data repository contains both U.S. ticketing data (accounting for 9.5 billion passenger flights worth more than $88 billion annually) and ticketing data settled outside the U.S. representing a combined 60% of all worldwide tickets. Utilizing this data, ARC provides air travel intelligence data products to the industry. The collected data includes sensitive information including credit card numbers.
As regulatory pressure increased for the protection of credit card information, ARC began looking for a solution to protect sensitive data across their data warehouse. As their security needs grew, they subsequently required a solution to secure other data as well.
