Many enterprises today are leveraging Amazon Redshift—a fully managed, cloud-native data warehouse—to analyze and unlock value from their data. To help these companies ensure that sensitive data is protected at every step of its lifecycle, we’ve collaborated with Amazon Redshift to provide our mutual customers with cloud-native, serverless data security. With Protegrity’s vaultless tokenization capabilities, we go beyond traditional encryption to protect data for companies with strict security requirements, creating more freedom for innovation.

Tokenization involves replacing a sensitive data element with a token, or a non-sensitive equivalent, while preserving the data format, type, and length. Protegrity converts cleartext data, protecting a multitude of sensitive data types—Social Security numbers, addresses, names, etc.—with role-based permissions that give appropriate users the access they need to work with that data. By tokenizing data in a cost-effective, high-performance, and cloud-friendly way, Protegrity significantly reduces the risk of data exposure.

Complementing Amazon Redshift’s already comprehensive, built-in security capabilities, Protegrity’s advanced tokenization protects the privacy of individuals before data reaches Amazon Redshift. Together, we allow companies to derive the full business value of their data while keeping pace with global data regulations.
